Sameh Nassef

Chairman

(2013 – Present)

Mr. Sameh joined Al Ahram in 2001 and was mentored by his father, Mr. Nassef, on various roles in the organization. In 2004, he started working as a stockbroker and after three years, his skill and talent made him evolve to become one of the best brokers in the company achieving excellent trade executions for asset managers and high net worth individuals. Given his law background, Mr. Sameh made significant contributions advising on and executing over-the-counter transactions. His contributions helped the team develop and tackle the largest and most complex transactions. In 2007, Mr. Sameh made a step change in the business by leading a new branch which helped Al Ahram grow and expand its client base. In 2013, Mr. Sameh was appointed chairman of Al Ahram to walk in his father’s footsteps.

Mr. Sameh holds an LLB from Cairo University (2001) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Technical Analysis from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (2012).

Soliman Nazmy

Co-founder / Vice Chairman

(1994 – Present)

Mr. Soliman is the co-founder and vice chairman of Al Ahram. In 1978, he joined Hector Forty Securities Brokerage as a representative, and three years later he was promoted to stockbroker. After six years of hard work and perseverance, Mr. Soliman partnered with his brother to form Nassef and Soliman Nazmy Securities Brokerage in 1987 which was later transformed to Al Ahram Securities Brokerage in 1994.

Carrying on the legacy of his brother, Mr. Soliman brings in more than 40 years of experience in the field of brokerage and investments. He is recognized as one of the prominent financiers of his generation with an unprecedented reputation of expertise and integrity. Mr. Soliman’s reputation earned him the trust and respect of many businessmen in the region who deem him as their partner and advisor with regards to their investment decisions.

In 2013, Mr. Soliman was elected board member of the Egyptian Exchange representing brokerage firms. Upon completion of his four-year duty at the Egyptian Exchange, Mr. Soliman was honored by H.E. Dr. Sahar Nasr - Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and Dr. Mohamed Omran – Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange for his contributions to the Egyptian Exchange. From 2017-2023, Mr. Soliman served as the head of the Capital Market Advisory Committee – a committee of 10 leading financiers reporting to the chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority. The committee is responsible for discussing standards and amendments in the fields of Asset Management, Investment Banking and Brokerage. Adding to his contributions to the industry, Mr. Soliman was appointed as the head of the Egyptian Securities Federation Founding Committee from 2019 until 2023. Mr. Soliman has also served as board member of the Egyptian Exchange from 2020 up until 2021. 

Karim Nazmy

Research Associate & Board Member

(2018 – Present)

Mr. Karim represents the latest generation to join Al Ahram. Prior to Al Ahram, he spent four years as a demand manager at Procter & Gamble (P&G) where he managed 80% of their brand portfolio in Egypt and Levant. During his time at P&G, he delivered excellent forecasting results in the MEA region for the brands he managed which helped achieve double-digit revenue growth on various brands.

In 2018, Mr. Karim joined Al Ahram to pursue a career shift to the investment industry. He currently serves as a research associate and has successfully set up a research house focusing on Quantitative Investing, Materials Sector, and Economic Research. Alongside his research duties, Mr. Karim also serves as a board member and assists in setting strategic plans to promote business growth.

Mr. Karim holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo with honors (2011) and a MSc in Investment Management from Cranfield University in the UK with first class honors (2017). He is also a CFA Charterholder (2019) having completed the program in the minimal period of 1.5 years.
