Nassef Nazmy

Founder and Chairman of Al Ahram

Mr. Nassef Nazmy is a milestone in our legacy with 56 years of experience in the investment industry. He was a man of many qualities, who from humble beginnings as a representative at Hector Forty’s firm, embarked on a journey to become one of the leaders of the Egyptian brokerage industry. Mr. Nassef was a natural leader. Through his hard work and commitment, he was promoted to stockbroker until he partnered with Mr. Raul Forty in 1975. In 1994, Mr. Nassef, founded Al Ahram Securities Brokerage alongside his brother Mr. Soliman and served as chairman until he passed away on February 14, 2013.

Mr. Nassef’s shrewdness, love for people and his ethics set him apart in the brokerage industry and his numerous achievements engraved his name on many institutions serving the industry in Egypt.
 

Contributions to the Egyptian Exchange

Mr. Nassef had numerous contributions to the Cairo Stock Exchange. From 1978 until 1985, Mr. Nassef served as a member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Exchange. In 1991, he was elected vice chairman of the Exchange. Finally, in 1994, Mr. Nassef was unanimously elected chairman of the Exchange and held the position until 1997. One of his many achievements as chairman was leading the transformation from an open outcry system to the electronic order-driven system investors use today.

Mr. Nassef also served in various other positions including:

  • Member of the Board of Directors at MCDR (1995 – 2005)

  • Member of the Settlement Guarantee Fund at MCDR (1995 – 2005)

  • Member of the Arab Federation of Exchanges to represent Egypt

Today, the company he started, Al Ahram, continues to grow and prosper following the wisdom, diligence and work-ethic he left behind.
